Wednesday, August 1, 2012 - 1:59 PM

Yellowknife, N.W.T. - Tuesday was a busy day in territorial court with some notable names on the docket.

In the morning session, Sophie Thrasher made an appearance; she faces charges of allegedly counseling someone to commit a murder.

Thrasher's defence counsel stated that she requested a preliminary inquiry and wants to face a judge in Supreme Court.

Her matters will be revisited once again in court on August 14 in the morning session.

The afternoon sessions saw Jacob Griep re-appear since his last appearance in court on July 10th.

Griep faces charges that include shoplifting, aggravated assault, and breach of probation dating back to an incident on April 24, after he was allegedly caught stealing form the downtown Extra Foods location.

Griep's case was once again adjourned to a later date, so that the defense could have further time to speak with him about the case.

Griep is scheduled to appear back in court on August 7.

As well, Derek Sangris appeared during the morning session with his matters also being moved to August 14.
