NewsEarly morning assault leaves man in critical but stable condition
Yellowknife, N.W.T. - A 22-year-old Yellowknife man has been charged after allegedly getting into a physical confrontation with another man early in the morning on April 30. Hamsa Kabille has been charged with aggravated assault and will appear in territorial May 2. RCMP constable Kathy Law said the victim of the alleged assault is in critical but stable condition. "As a result of the confrontation [a] 36 year old male, Yellowknife male, received some serious injuries and was transported to Stanton Hospital and then further medivaced on to Edmonton for treatment of his injuries," said Law. A second Yellowknife man was also arrested but he was later released without being charged. Law said whenever possible, there's a simple way to stay out of situations such as this. "If you know that someone is going to be in the area that either you don't get along with or that you think that you could get into some kind of confrontation with, avoid the area,” she said. "Avoidance is always the best bet." The alleged assault occurred at 1:45 am on April 30 at the Fort Gary Apartments on Franklin Avenue. CJCD Mix 100 News More Local
