NewsCharges laid in Yellowknife bar beating
Yellowknife, N.W.T. - Yellowknife RCMP are appealing for anyone who witnessed a fight in the early hours of Sunday morning to come forward. One person was charged and another taken to hospital after an incident outside a bar on 50th Street. RCMP constable Amanda McGillivray explained what happened. “The fight occurred when words were exchanged between the two men as they left the bar,” she said. “The victim received serious injuries in the assault and was transferred to Stanton Territorial Hospital for treatment.” The victim was rendered unconscious by the attack and also sustained injuries to his nose. Twenty-one-year-old Stein Randall Bourque was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. McGillivray explained why they are looking for witnesses to come forward. “We just want to confirm that we have all of the details correct and all the details to the story just in case,” she said. Bourque has been released on bail and his next court appearance is Mar. 20.
