NewsJudge grants local women's peace bond applicationMonday, March 19, 2012 - 8:21 AM Yellowknife, N.W.T. - Judge Christine Gagnon granted a Yellowknife woman a peace bond against Lloyd Thrasher Friday afternoon. The women sought the order after two exchanges with Thrasher at her work place in early January. Thrasher contested her application for the restraining order. So in order to have it granted the applicant had to show she was subjectively afraid of Thrasher harming her or her property and that this fear was based on reasonable evidence. Judge Gagnon ruled that the women's fear was reasonable and based on Thrasher's behavior which the judge said included intimidation by words, action and tone of voice. Thrasher had argued the restraining order application was an over-reaction and that the women's fear was based on his notoriety for having been convicted for killing a dog. Thrasher is not to have any contact with the applicant, or go to her place of work, for the next 12 months. CJCD Mix 100 News More Local
