Yellowknife, N.W.T. - One of the two men charged after RCMP seized a large amount of drugs from a vehicle has changed his plea.

Robert Livingstone was charged with two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking after the RCMP allegedly seized almost 270 grams of cocaine and 3 kilograms of marijuana from a truck he was driving from BC to Yellowknife in the summer of 2010.

Yesterday, Livingstone changed his plea to guilty.

The passenger in the vehicle, Rory Moore, was facing the same charges but was acquitted on both counts earlier this spring.

At Moore's trial, Livingstone testified that the two had gone to British Columbia and stayed at his cousin's place.

A cousin who, Livingstone said, had previously used him as a drug mule.

Livingstone also said that he put the packages of pot and cocaine inside the truck before the two returned to Yellowknife from BC.

The defendant is expected back in court June 25th for facts and sentencing.
