Pedestrian struck by car in Yellowknife on Friday morning

Friday, June 1, 2012 - 4:08 PM

Yellowknife, N.W.T. - Yellowknife RCMP are investigating after a woman was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing the street this morning.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Borden Drive and Old Airport Road.

More pedestrians are out on the streets with the warmer weather ... so constable Kathy Law says to use caution when driving.

“Always be careful, obey all the traffic signs and lights,” she said. “It is lighter out now and the roads aren’t slippery from snow, but that doesn’t mean that accidents can’t happen. Just always be aware of what’s going on around you and check and double-check when you’re driving and walking and riding bikes.”

The woman was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital and it's unknown what her condition is at this time.
