Yellowknife, N.W.T. - Both teens allegedly responsible for the sexual assault of a 44-year-old woman Thursday night in Yellowknife have now been arrested and charged.

A 15-year-old boy was apprehended by police shortly after the incident.

The second 14 year old teen was taken into custody on Friday night.

Constable Kathy Law said the younger teen was brought into the RCMP detachment by relatives.

"They were both known to police so it was just a matter of finding where they were at the given time and speaking with family. Everyone was very cooperative, including the youth."

At around 9:00 pm on Thursday evening a member of the public called police to report that a sexual assault was taking place outside on 52nd street.

When the RCMP arrived they found the woman sitting alone on the ground.

Both teens have been charged with one count of sexual assault and have been released from custody.

They are scheduled to be back in Youth Court on June 25th.
