NewsYellowknife woman found dead in cabin
Yellowknife, N.W.T. - Several sectors of the Yellowknife RCMP are investigating after a woman was found dead over the weekend. According to police, the 20-year-old victim was located in a cabin along Highway 3 at around 12:30 p.m. on May 13. Not much is being released, but Constable Kathy Law said the death is being treated as suspicious and that's why numerous departments are involved. "The Yellowknife Detachment attended the scene along with the Major Crimes Unit and the forensic investigation section. At this time the cause of death is not known," said Law. Law also said police aren't releasing any details about what type of contact police have had with the family, but they have been notified. “The investigation remains open so we are not really discussing the actual contents of the investigation, any witnesses or anything related to that," she said. The NWT Coroner's Office is assisting in the investigation and Law said the office has had the victim's body sent to Edmonton for an autopsy and toxicology tests. She added there most likely won't be any further information until the tests come back. CJCD Mix 100 News Similar StoriesMore Local
