NewsOld Town Ramble and Ride set to kick off
Yellowknife, N.W.T. - A weekend full of art, music and family oriented events is what Yellowknifers can expect from the 6th annual Old Town Ramble and Ride Festival. The three day party gets underway Friday evening at 6:30 at the Down to Earth Gallery Coffee House with live music as five acts will be taking to the stage including Wake Up Hazel and Shea Alain. Festival co-ordinator Vanessa Baron said that one of the unique features that sets the festival apart from other events is their set up. “It isn’t contained to one specific area,” she said. “It’s all around Old Town.” Baron also said that there will be two features this year that were sure to gain a lot of attention over the weekend. “An audio tour that’s taking place throughout Old Town, where you can actually have a self-guided audio experience and walk throughout Old Town,” she said. “We also have a dance show called ‘Moving Spaces’, a dance and live music performance. It’s a walking tour that allows people to experience six different walking spaces in Old Town.” Some of the other local artists performing over the weekend include Wake up Hazel, Grey Grit along with many others.
